It's a great journey to becoming a nurse assistant, and an incredibly rewarding career.  Nowadays, we can always use more nurses and nursing assistants with the rise in the amount of elderly patients who need our care.  Getting your CNA recertification is something that you will do after a period of time if you are a nursing assistant with a license. 

There are many places in which you can go to take updated programs, and classes including getting your CNA certification. What is involved is going to school, and taking a test for your recertification so that your license can stay up to date, and you can continue on your career path of being a licensed nurse assistant.

For instance, if you work seven in the morning to seven at night only four days a week as some nurse assistants do, you have three sometimes four days off, and then perhaps it switches around to nights in a few weeks.  This type of scheduling is quite common among nursing assistants. Those with families find that it is challenging to work these long shifts, but the payoff is having more full days off with your family. 

Since there is quite a shortage of nurses, you may also be called into work frequently, which is good, and bad as well.  What is nice about it, is that if you need the extra work, it is available to you, and as your progress through your nursing career, getting your CNA recertification as often as required, your hours become more a matter of choice, and a full time nursing assistant position that you're satisfied with is sure to become available to you.  The payoffs of being a nurse are unparalleled.  You help make people better, and you get paid for it.  It is a very noble career, one that you will be proud to do.
